Beginner-Friendly T-Shirt Sewing Workshop
Always wanted to make your own clothes but not sure where to start? This workshop is the perfect place to begin.
No sewing experience is needed — we’ll guide you through everything step by step, from cutting your fabric to sewing your very first T-shirt. By the end of the session, you’ll leave with a handmade garment and the confidence to keep going.
If you already have some sewing experience, you can take it a step further by bringing your fabric pre-cut — and even make two T-shirts on the day while refining your skills.
We keep our classes small (maximum 6 adults) so you’ll get plenty of one-to-one support in a relaxed, friendly space.
What you’ll make
A simple, comfortable T-shirt using stretch fabric.
What you’ll learn
• How to sew with stretch fabrics
• Tips for handling jersey without it stretching out
• Understanding grain line and fabric direction
• Sewing shoulder seams, side seams and attaching sleeves
• How to attach and finish a neckline
• Neat hemming techniques for stretch fabrics
What to bring
• 1.5–2 metres of stretch fabric (cotton jersey, interlock or similar)
• Matching thread
Not sure what fabric to choose? Just email us — we’re always happy to help.
You can also purchase fabric directly from us to collect before the workshop or have delivered to you.
Good to know
You’re very welcome to come as a complete beginner and learn everything on the day.
If you’re a confident beginner, we recommend pre-cutting your T-shirt pieces and bringing enough fabric to make two — so you can really make the most of your time.
What’s included
Sewing machines, tools and all the equipment you’ll need — just bring your fabric and thread.
