We keep our workshops small, with a maximum of 6 adults per session, so everyone receives plenty of individual support.

What will you make?

A relaxed-fit unlined kimono-style jacket with a modern, oversized silhouette and a simple magnetic front fastening. Designed to be comfortable, versatile and easy to wear, it's the perfect lightweight layering piece.

What will you learn?

• How to thread the sewing machine
• Understanding fabric grain and seam allowances
• How to cut out your fabric accurately
• Constructing an easy kimono-style jacket
• Attaching sleeves using a beginner-friendly construction method
• Finishing raw edges with an overlocker
• Adding a magnetic front fastening
• Tips for achieving a neat, professional-looking finish

What to bring

• 2 metres of denim, canvas, cotton twill or sweatshirt fabric
• Matching thread

Please prewash your fabric before the workshop, as some fabrics may shrink after washing.

Don't forget, you can also buy fabric at the studio! Simply send us a message before your workshop and we'll happily send you photos of the fabrics we currently have available so you can choose your favourite in advance.
