If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to sew but don’t know where to start, our beginner-friendly sewing classes in South West London are the perfect introduction. With a maximum of just three students per session, you’ll receive plenty of one-to-one support in a relaxed and welcoming environment. No previous sewing experience is required.
Skill Level: Suitable for complete beginners or those with very little sewing knowledge. Each lesson begins with a step-by-step introduction to using a sewing machine and an overlocker.
What you’ll make:
You’ll learn how to create a cushion cover with an invisible zip plus learn to mend your clothes, or you can choose to bring along your own project for a freestyle session.
What you’ll learn:
Throughout the lesson you’ll be guided through all the essential sewing skills, including threading and using a sewing machine, sewing straight lines, finishing seams, and reverse stitching. You’ll also gain an understanding of fabrics, grain lines, seam allowances, pinning and marking fabric correctly. We’ll cover how to attach an invisible zipper and finish off raw seams neatly using an overlocker – giving your project a professional finish.
