Simple Mending Workshop
Learn how to confidently mend your own clothes in this calm, beginner-friendly workshop focused on practical, everyday repairs. You’ll be guided through the basics of using a domestic sewing machine before practising straight seams and techniques on scrap fabric, helping you build confidence before working on your own garments.
Once you’re comfortable, you’ll move on to mending items you’ve brought with you. This may include taking up hems on jeans, shirts or T-shirts, along with other simple fixes that can extend the life of your clothing.
What you’ll cover:
- How to safely and confidently use a sewing machine
- Practising seams and techniques on scrap fabric
- Taking up hems on jeans, shirts and T-shirts
- Simple, durable mending methods you can repeat at home
Who it’s for:
Ideal for complete beginners or anyone wanting to gain practical mending skills. No previous sewing experience is required.
What to bring:
Please bring 4–6 garments you’d like to mend.
All sewing machines, tools and materials for practice are provided.

Please note that some repairs are more complex (like heavy alterations or tricky garment construction), so while we’ll always guide you, not everything may be finished on the day.
